The Different Types of Soul Mates: McKinney, Texas

We have all heard the term Soul Mate or even the term Twin Flame. But what exactly is this and what does it suggest?

Growing up, I'd learned the concept of "the one" — that is, the person who you meet and determine they are the one for you and would want to marry. And believing that was kind of scary and nerve-racking to think that of the billions of people on the planet, there was only one person for me.

The truth is, every person probably has tens of thousands of "the one" if not more. You figure there are over 8 billion people on the planet — surely there has to be several to choose from that we could happily pair up with and have the most satisfying relationship! But that isn't what we're taught, is it?

Through my spiritual journeys and trainings, it became clearer and clearer that "the one" or a twin flame is just something that can be applied to the term Soul Mate — but that having a Soul Mate shouldn't suggest that every person is only assigned one, because we're not.

I recently came across a very interesting article by Tanya Carroll Richardson, a professional intuitive, who writes about the 12 different types of Soul Mates we might meet. Here they are:

The 12 Types of Soul Mates

Soul Partners — Souls specifically designed to help support you in this life emotionally, professionally, or in any other way you require to accomplish what your soul planned to do here on earth.

Soul Ties — When you feel a soul tie, it's simply the sense that another soul is in your life for a reason, inspiring you to make room for the relationship.

Past-Life Soul Mates — When two souls have shared a significant past life together, if they meet again in this life they may be inexplicably drawn to each other.

Karmic Soul Mates — Every interaction with another person creates energy that can turn into karma. Karmic relationships come into our lives as change agents who facilitate opportunities to improve our karma so we can grow and evolve.

Romantic Soul Mates — When we enter a significant romantic relationship, we are being given the opportunity to heal, learn, and grow because of the relationship.

Twin Flames — While some believe the twin flame is the ultimate romantic experience, every relationship has the potential to help you achieve more enlightenment.

Soul Mate Friends — Not all soul mates are romantic. Companion soul mates can be equally important — spiritual sidekicks destined to give each other love and encouragement.

Soul Families/Groups — Large groups of souls linked together, showing up as actual family members or as people working toward common goals.

Kindred Spirits — People who really understand you, sharing the same spiritual beliefs or agreeing with you about life to the point you could finish each other's sentences.

Soul Contracts — Agreements you made on a soul level to do certain things in this lifetime. These contracts can be renegotiated if you're in a toxic situation.

Soul Teachers — A healer or mentor who comes into your life via divine timing. Being a therapist, I feel I'm constantly learning and teaching simultaneously.

Soul Crossings — Someone who comes into your life but the timing and circumstances are not conducive to a long-term relationship — yet for a short time you share amazing experiences and awakenings.
